Where is Elefsis
Elefsis, also known as Eleusis, is a town located in the West Attica region of Greece. It is situated about 20 kilometers northwest of Athens, the capital of Greece. Elefsis is historically significant due to its association with the ancient Eleusinian Mysteries, an important religious and spiritual festival in ancient Greece held in honor of the goddesses Demeter and Persephone. The town is also known for its archaeological site, the Telesterion, which was a major sanctuary connected to the Eleusinian Mysteries.
