Cholula is a town located in the state of Puebla, Mexico. It is situated in the central part of the country, approximately 12 kilometers (about 7.5 miles) west of the city of Puebla, the capital of the state of Puebla. Cholula is known for its historical and cultural significance, including its archaeological sites and the Great Pyramid of Cholula, which is one of the largest pyramids in the world by base area. The town is a popular tourist destination and has a rich history dating back to pre-Columbian times.
