Geelong is located on the southern coast of Victoria along the shores of Corio Bay, about 75 kilometres southwest of Melbourne. It lies between the Surf Coast and Great Ocean Road to the south and the Bellarine Peninsula to the east. It is famous for its waterfront precinct, industrial and sporting heritage, and its role as a major gateway to coastal attractions.
