Katoomba is located in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, about 110 kilometres west of Sydney. It lies between the deep sandstone valleys carved by the Blue Mountains National Park and the elevated plateau towns that run along the Great Western Highway. It is famous for the Three Sisters rock formation, dramatic cliffside views, and its heritage as a popular mountain retreat.
