Kingston is located in southern Tasmania, about 12 kilometres south of Hobart’s city centre. It lies between the beaches and coastal inlets of the Derwent estuary and the forested foothills that rise toward the Huon region. It is famous for its rapid growth as a major Hobart suburb, its beautiful coastal setting, and its gateway position to the scenic Channel region.
