The ICC Men's T20 World Cup, formerly known as the ICC World Twenty20, is an international championship of Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament was first held in 2007 and is generally conducted every two years, although scheduling has been adjusted due to global events. As of 2026, the ICC has conducted the tournament ten times (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2026).
Winners of T20 World Cup 2024 - India
India won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating South Africa in a dramatic final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on 29 June 2024. The tournament was jointly hosted by the United States and the West Indies and featured 20 teams.
Batting first in the final, India scored 176/7 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli played a match-defining innings of 76 runs and was named Player of the Match. South Africa looked in control during the chase, but India’s bowlers turned the game around in the final overs. South Africa eventually finished at 169/8, handing India a narrow 7-run victory.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 was held in Australia from 16 October to 13 November 2022. England won the tournament by defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Sam Curran was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding bowling performance throughout the competition.
Winners of T20 World Cup 2021 - Australia
The 2020 edition, originally scheduled to be hosted by Australia, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The postponed tournament was later held in 2021 in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The 2022 edition was successfully conducted in Australia. As of the latest tournament (2024), the competition features 20 teams.
The 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from 17 October to 14 November 2021, was the seventh edition of the tournament. Originally scheduled for Australia in 2020, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and later relocated to the UAE.
Australia won their first ICC Men's T20 World Cup title by defeating New Zealand by eight wickets in the final held in Dubai. Mitchell Marsh was named Player of the Match in the final, while David Warner was awarded Player of the Tournament. Australia received prize money of USD 1.6 million for winning the championship.
The defending champions, West Indies (winners in 2016), were eliminated in the Super 12 stage. The tournament marked Australia’s second appearance in a T20 World Cup final, their first being in 2010.
