Where is Belarus Located?
Belarus is a landlocked country located in Eastern Europe. Belarus shares its international boundaries with Russia in the north-east, Ukraine in the south, Poland in the west, and Lithuania and Latvia from the northwest. Economy of the country largely depends upon agriculture and manufacturing.
Just before the collapse of Russia in the year 27 July 1990, the parliament of the Belarus declared the sovereignty. However, after the collapse, it became the full independent state in the year 25 August 1991. Surprisingly, Belarus has the highest Human Development Index among all members of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
In Belarus, more than 80% of the population is Belarusians, with considerable minorities of Russians, Poles and Ukrainians. However, country has two official languages i.e. Belarusian and Russian. Government type in Belarus is a presidential republic, which is governed by a President and the National Assembly headed by Prime Minister. The National Assembly is a bicameral consists of 110 members in House of Representatives (the lower house) and 64 members in Council of the Republic (the upper house).
