Western European Countries
Western Europe refers to the western part of the European continent. According to the United Nations Statistics Division, Western Europe includes countries such as Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. These nations are commonly referred to as Western European countries. Most of them are members of the European Union, and many are also part of the NATO military alliance. Western Europe is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, world-class museums, art galleries, orchestras, and historical landmarks.
Western Europe has a combined population of approximately 195–200 million people. Western Europe is among the wealthiest regions in the world. Luxembourg consistently ranks among the countries with the highest GDP per capita globally. Germany has the largest economy in Europe and is a major global exporter. Switzerland and Luxembourg are known for having some of the highest average salaries worldwide. The region is also home to internationally recognized brands in fashion, engineering, and sportswear, such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Adidas, and Bally.
