Scotland is a country that is made up of several island chains and a main land that is connected to the country of England to the south and North Sea in the east, the Atlantic Ocean in the north and west and the Irish Sea to the south-west. Scotland includes more than 800 islands, including the northern isles of Shetland and Orkney, Arran, the Hebrides and Skye. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and the largest city is Glasgow.
