Though, the city is located in the arid region of the United States but it is quite developed with having University of New Mexico, Sandia National Laboratories, Petroglyph National Monument, and Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute The great river Rio Grande flows through the Albuquerque city in the direction of north to south and Sandia Mountains lie in the eastern side of the city.
