Buffalo is a city and port, seat of Erie county, western New York, United States. It is located eastern end of Lake Erie at the head of the Niagara River opposite Fort Erie, Ontario. The city and nearby Niagara Falls. According to the United States Census Bureau, Buffalo has an area of 52.5 sq mi (136 km2), with a population of 278,349 according to the 2020 census, its population density was 6,893.41 per square mile (2,661.58/km2).
In December 2022, The winter storm Elliott leaves 28 dead in Buffalo area. The region around Buffalo, in upstate New York, has been worst affected.
