De Queen is a city located in Sevier County, Arkansas, the United States. It is the county seat of Sevier County and lies in southwest Arkansas near the Oklahoma and Texas borders. De Queen is about 30 miles north of the Texas state line, 45 miles east of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and roughly 50 miles northeast of Texarkana. The city is located at approximately 34.0379° North latitude and 94.3413° West longitude. De Queen covers about 9.57 square miles (24.80 sq km) and had 4,396 residents in the 2020 Census. The surrounding landscape includes pine forests, hills, streams, and lakes typical of the Ouachita region. De Queen was founded in the late 19th century and incorporated in 1897. The city developed around the railroad, which helped connect southwest Arkansas with Texas and Oklahoma. Agriculture, forestry, and timber have played important roles in the local economy.
