It lies in central Arkansas near the southern foothills of the Ozark Mountains, about 15 miles north of Conway and approximately 45 miles north of Little Rock. The city is located at approximately 35.233° North latitude and 92.388° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 5,769 residents. Greenbrier covers about 8.11 square miles, or 21.0 square kilometers, and is primarily land. The community was incorporated in 1881 and developed along transportation routes connecting central Arkansas communities.
