Walnut Ridge is a city located in Lawrence County, Arkansas, the United States. It is in northeastern Arkansas on Crowley's Ridge, about 25 miles west of Jonesboro and approximately 85 miles northeast of Little Rock. Walnut Ridge lies at about 36.068° North latitude and 90.956° West longitude. The city had 5,384 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 15.4 square miles, or 39.9 square kilometers. Walnut Ridge was established in the 19th century and developed as a major railroad community after the arrival of the St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway. The city's railroad heritage remains an important part of its identity. Walnut Ridge also gained cultural attention in 1964 when the Beatles briefly stopped in the community while traveling by train. The Beatles Park and Guitar Walk commemorate that visit.
