Alma is a city located in Crawford County, Arkansas, the United States. The city lies in western Arkansas along Interstate 40 and Interstate 49, approximately 13 miles (21 km) east of Fort Smith, 55 miles (89 km) south of Fayetteville, and about 140 miles (225 km) northwest of Little Rock. Alma is located at 35.4779° North latitude and 94.2219° West longitude. According to the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 5,825. Alma covers approximately 6.35 square miles (16.45 sq km). The city is widely recognized as the "Spinach Capital of the World" and celebrates its agricultural heritage each year with the Alma Spinach Festival.
