Breaux Bridge is a city located in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, the United States. It lies in the Acadiana region of south-central Louisiana along Bayou Teche. Breaux Bridge is approximately 10 miles east of Lafayette, 20 miles west of St. Martinville, and about 55 miles west of Baton Rouge. The city is located at approximately 30.2735° North latitude and 91.8993° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,125 residents. Breaux Bridge covers about 6.71 square miles, or 17.38 square kilometers, including approximately 6.50 square miles of land and 0.21 square miles of water. Bayou Teche is the city's most important geographic feature and has shaped local culture, transportation, and recreation. Breaux Bridge was founded in 1829 by Agricole Breaux and incorporated in 1959. The city is widely known for its Cajun heritage, local seafood traditions, and annual crawfish festival.
