Grambling is a city located in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, the United States. It lies in north-central Louisiana, about 5 miles west of Ruston and approximately 70 miles east of Shreveport. Grambling is part of the Ruston micropolitan area and sits near Interstate 20, which provides an important east-west connection across northern Louisiana. The city is located at approximately 32.527° North latitude and 92.714° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 4,693 residents. Grambling covers about 2.12 square miles, or 5.49 square kilometers. The city was incorporated in 1953 and grew around the institution now known as Grambling State University. The university was founded in 1901 and became a major center of higher education for African American students in Louisiana. Eddie G. Robinson Museum and the Grambling State University campus are important local attractions. The city also has close access to Ruston's parks, museums, and outdoor recreation.
