Heber Springs is a city located in Cleburne County, Arkansas, the United States. It lies in north-central Arkansas, about 55 miles north of Little Rock and roughly 35 miles southwest of Batesville. The city sits near Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. Heber Springs is located at approximately 35.492° North latitude and 92.032° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 6,970 residents. The city covers about 7.73 square miles, or 20.02 square kilometers. Greers Ferry Lake is the area's best-known attraction and provides opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and camping. The Little Red River is also famous for trout fishing below Greers Ferry Dam. A unique fact about Heber Springs is that the community was originally called Sugar Loaf before being renamed in honor of Heber J. Grant. U.S. Highway 25 and Arkansas Highway 110 provide road connections to nearby communities and regional destinations.
