Cedartown is a city located in Polk County, Georgia, the United States. It is about 60 miles northwest of Atlanta and 20 miles southeast of Rome. Cedartown is located at approximately 34.0112° North latitude and 85.2557° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 10,190 residents, and the city covers about 23.24 square miles (60.19 sq km). The historic downtown and Polk County Courthouse are important landmarks, while the nearby Silver Comet Trail provides a major outdoor recreation route. Cedartown was incorporated in 1854 and developed as a regional center for agriculture, commerce, and manufacturing. The city takes its name from the Eastern red cedar trees that once grew widely in the area.
