Conyers is a city located in Rockdale County, Georgia, the United States. It is the county seat of Rockdale County and lies about 25 miles east of downtown Atlanta and roughly 20 miles west of Covington. Conyers is located at approximately 33.6676° North latitude and 84.0177° West longitude. The city covers about 11.89 square miles (30.80 sq km) and had 17,805 residents in the 2020 Census. The surrounding area features rolling Piedmont hills, wooded land, streams, and suburban communities. Conyers began as a railroad community in the 19th century and was incorporated in 1854. The city developed around the Georgia Railroad and later became the center of Rockdale County government. Olde Town Conyers is one of the city's best-known landmarks, with historic buildings, local shops, restaurants, and community events.
