Where is Dallas Located?

Dallas is a city located in Paulding County, Georgia, the United States. It is the county seat of Paulding County and lies about 30 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta. Dallas is also about 10 miles northwest of Hiram, 20 miles west of Acworth, and roughly 30 miles northeast of Carrollton. The city is located at approximately 33.9237° North latitude and 84.8408° West longitude. Dallas covers about 7.42 square miles (19.21 sq km) and had 14,042 residents in the 2020 Census. The city sits in the rolling terrain of northwestern Georgia and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Dallas was founded in 1852 and incorporated in 1854. It was named after George Mifflin Dallas, who served as Vice President of the United States under President James K. Polk. The historic downtown remains a central part of the community. The Silver Comet Trail passes near Dallas and provides a long paved route for walking, cycling, and other outdoor activities. Pickett's Mill Battlefield Historic Site is also nearby and preserves an important Civil War battlefield.
