Douglas is a city located in Coffee County, Georgia, the United States. It is situated in southern Georgia's Wiregrass region, about 50 miles north of Valdosta and approximately 85 miles west of Brunswick. Douglas lies at about 31.51° North latitude and 82.85° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 11,722 residents. The city covers approximately 14.68 square miles (38.02 square kilometers), with most of the area consisting of land. Douglas serves as the county seat of Coffee County and has long been connected with agriculture, timber, and regional commerce. The city was incorporated in 1895 and grew rapidly after the arrival of the railroad. General Coffee State Park, located about 10 miles west of Douglas, is one of the area's best-known attractions. The park features trails, a historic farmstead, a mill, wetlands, and the Heritage Farmstead Museum.
