Flowery Branch is a city located in Hall County, Georgia, the United States. It lies in northeast Georgia along the southern edge of Lake Lanier, about 50 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, 10 miles south of Gainesville, and roughly 15 miles northwest of Lawrenceville. Flowery Branch is positioned at approximately 34.187° North latitude and 83.925° West longitude. The city covers about 7.50 square miles, or 19.42 square kilometers, of land and water. The 2020 Census recorded 9,391 residents, while recent estimates place the population at about 10,000. Flowery Branch stands at an elevation of roughly 1,000 feet above sea level. The community began as a railroad town in the 19th century and later grew as the Atlanta metropolitan area expanded northward. Historic downtown Flowery Branch retains older buildings and streets that reflect the city's railroad-era past. Lake Lanier is the area's major natural attraction, offering boating, fishing, swimming, and shoreline recreation.
