Holly Springs is a city located in Cherokee County, Georgia, the United States. It lies about 35 miles north of downtown Atlanta and roughly 5 miles south of Canton. Holly Springs is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area and sits in a rapidly developing suburban area of northern Georgia. The city is located at approximately 34.174° North latitude and 84.490° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 16,655 residents. Holly Springs covers about 6.39 square miles, or 16.55 square kilometers. Lake Allatoona, located a short distance northwest of the city, is a major regional attraction for boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, and camping. The city developed around the railroad in the late 19th century and has retained connections to its historic roots.
