Kankakee is a city located in Kankakee County, Illinois, the United States. It lies in northeastern Illinois, about 60 miles south of Chicago and roughly 25 miles east of Morris. Kankakee serves as the county seat of Kankakee County and sits along the Kankakee River, which is one of the city's defining natural features.
