Where is Kingsland Located?
Kingsland is a city located in Camden County, Georgia, the United States. It lies in southeastern Georgia near the Florida state line, about 40 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida, and roughly 35 miles southwest of St. Marys and the Atlantic coast. Kingsland is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area and is surrounded by pine forests, wetlands, coastal plains, and waterways. The city is located at approximately 30.799° North latitude and 81.689° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 18,337 residents. Kingsland covers about 45.32 square miles, or 117.38 square kilometers. The community was founded in the 18th century and developed as an agricultural and railroad settlement. Today, its economy is supported by residential growth, tourism, retail, and services connected to the nearby coast and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Kingsland is also known for its access to Georgia's coastal and natural attractions. Nearby St. Marys provides ferry access to Cumberland Island National Seashore, while the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge lies to the west. A unique feature of Kingsland is its location between the Atlantic coast and the vast wetlands of the Okefenokee region.
