Where is Panama City Beach Located?

Panama City Beach is a city located in Bay County, Florida, the United States. It stretches along the Gulf of Mexico in the Florida Panhandle, about 10 miles northwest of Panama City and roughly 100 miles southwest of Tallahassee. Destin is about 60 miles west, while Apalachicola is around 75 miles southeast. Panama City Beach is positioned near 30.176° North latitude and 85.805° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 18,094 residents. The city covers about 18.35 square miles, or 47.53 square kilometers. Its coastline is known for broad beaches of white quartz sand and shallow Gulf waters. St. Andrews State Park is one of the area's best-known attractions and protects beaches, dunes, wetlands, and coastal wildlife habitat. Panama City Beach was incorporated in 1977 after several communities along the coast were consolidated. A unique feature of the city is its long stretch of Gulf shoreline and its location near St. Andrews Bay and Shell Island.
