Sylvester is a city located in Worth County, Georgia, the United States. It lies in southwest Georgia, about 35 miles northwest of Valdosta and roughly 45 miles southeast of Albany. Tifton is about 25 miles northeast, while Moultrie is approximately 30 miles south of Sylvester. The city is located at 31.5307° North latitude and 83.8355° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 5,644 residents. Sylvester covers about 6.67 square miles, or approximately 17.28 square kilometers. The surrounding landscape consists of flat to gently rolling farmland, pine forests, wetlands, and rural roads typical of Georgia's Coastal Plain.
