Toccoa is a city located in Stephens County, Georgia, the United States. It lies in northeast Georgia near the South Carolina border and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, about 90 miles northeast of Atlanta and roughly 50 miles west of Greenville, South Carolina. Clarkesville is about 20 miles southwest, while Lavonia is approximately 15 miles southeast of Toccoa. The city is located at 34.5773° North latitude and 83.3324° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 9,133 residents. Toccoa covers about 8.84 square miles, or approximately 22.90 square kilometers. The surrounding landscape features forested hills, mountain ridges, streams, waterfalls, and rural farmland. Toccoa Falls, located on the campus of Toccoa Falls College, drops about 186 feet and is one of the region's best-known natural landmarks. Currahee Mountain rises west of the city and offers hiking, scenic views, and a strong connection to World War II history.
