Clewiston is a city located in Hendry County, Florida, the United States. It sits on the southern shore of Lake Okeechobee in South Florida, about 60 miles west of West Palm Beach and 80 miles west of Fort Lauderdale. Clewiston is located at approximately 26.7542° North latitude and 80.9337° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,327 residents, and the city covers about 4.48 square miles (11.60 sq km). Lake Okeechobee is the dominant geographic feature near the city and supports fishing, boating, wildlife, and water management. Clewiston was founded in the 1920s and incorporated in 1931.
