Cocoa is a city located in Brevard County, Florida, the United States. It is on Florida's east-central coast along the Indian River, about 10 miles west of Cocoa Beach and 45 miles east of Orlando. Cocoa is located at approximately 28.3861° North latitude and 80.7420° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 19,041 residents, and the city covers about 15.32 square miles (39.68 sq km). Cocoa was incorporated in 1881 and grew as a river and agricultural community. Its location on the Indian River helped support trade and transportation, while its proximity to Cape Canaveral later connected the city with Florida's space industry.
