Colona is a city located in Henry County, Illinois, the United States. It is about 20 miles southeast of Moline and 25 miles east of Davenport, Iowa. Colona is located at approximately 41.4839° North latitude and 90.3524° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 5,243 residents, and the city covers about 4.28 square miles (11.09 sq km). The Rock River forms part of the local landscape and has long been important to the area's settlement and agriculture. Colona was incorporated as a city in 1990 after developing from a small river community. Its location near Interstate 80 and Interstate 74 provides convenient access to the Quad Cities and other communities across northwestern Illinois and eastern Iowa.
