Where is Countryside Located?
Countryside is a city located in Cook County, Illinois, the United States. It lies about 15 miles west of downtown Chicago and roughly 20 miles east of Naperville. Countryside is bordered by La Grange, Hodgkins, Indian Head Park, Burr Ridge, and Western Springs. The city is located at approximately 41.7811° North latitude and 87.8781° West longitude. It covers about 2.88 square miles (7.46 sq km) and had 6,420 residents in the 2020 Census. Countryside was incorporated as a village in 1960 and became a city in 1961. Its growth followed the expansion of Chicago's western suburbs during the middle of the 20th century. The area has a mix of residential neighborhoods, businesses, parks, and major transportation routes. Interstate 55, Interstate 294, and U.S. Route 12 provide easy access to Chicago and nearby communities. Countryside is also close to forest preserves and recreational areas along the Des Plaines River.
