Dade City is a city located in Pasco County, Florida, the United States. It is the county seat of Pasco County and lies about 35 miles north of Tampa and 60 miles west of Orlando. Dade City is approximately 10 miles northeast of Zephyrhills and 20 miles north of Wesley Chapel. The city is located at approximately 28.3647° North latitude and 82.1959° West longitude. It covers about 7.1 square miles (18.4 sq km) and had 7,275 residents in the 2020 Census. Dade City is known for its rolling terrain, which is higher and more varied than many other parts of Florida. The city was incorporated in 1889 and developed around agriculture, railroads, and trade. Historic Downtown Dade City remains an important part of the community, with older buildings, local businesses, and civic landmarks.
