It lies on the western side of the Cleveland metropolitan area, about 10 miles west of downtown Cleveland and roughly 4 miles south of Lake Erie. Fairview Park is positioned at approximately 41.441° North latitude and 81.855° West longitude. The city covers about 5.05 square miles, or 13.08 square kilometers, of land. The 2020 Census recorded 16,114 residents, while the 2023 population estimate was about 15,900. Fairview Park stands at an elevation of roughly 760 feet above sea level. The city developed as a residential suburb during Cleveland's expansion in the 20th century. Westgate Mall and the surrounding commercial district are important local destinations.
