Fostoria is a city located in Hancock County, Ohio, the United States. The city also extends into Seneca and Wood counties and lies in northwestern Ohio, about 40 miles south of Toledo, 20 miles north of Findlay, and roughly 55 miles southeast of Bowling Green. Fostoria is positioned at approximately 41.157° North latitude and 83.416° West longitude. The city covers about 7.06 square miles, or 18.29 square kilometers, of land. The 2020 Census recorded 13,046 residents, while recent estimates place the population at about 12,800. Fostoria stands at an elevation of roughly 760 feet above sea level. The community developed in the 19th century at the meeting point of several railroad lines, which helped make it an important transportation center. Fostoria later became well known for glass manufacturing, and the Fostoria Glass Company helped establish the city's name in the glass industry.
