High Springs is a city located in Alachua County, Florida, the United States. It lies about 20 miles northwest of Gainesville and roughly 35 miles southwest of Lake City. High Springs is part of the Gainesville metropolitan area and sits near the Santa Fe River and several freshwater springs. The city is located at approximately 29.826° North latitude and 82.596° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 6,465 residents. High Springs covers about 23.72 square miles, or 61.44 square kilometers. Poe Springs, Florida's largest spring by water flow, is located nearby and is a major natural attraction.
