Indian Harbour Beach is a city located in Brevard County, Florida, the United States. It lies along Florida's Atlantic coast on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon. The city is about 10 miles south of Cocoa Beach and roughly 15 miles northeast of Melbourne. Indian Harbour Beach is part of the Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville metropolitan area and is close to many Space Coast attractions. The city is located at approximately 28.149° North latitude and 80.588° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,022 residents. Indian Harbour Beach covers about 0.92 square miles, or 2.38 square kilometers, with much of its western side adjoining the Indian River Lagoon. Its most famous attraction is its Atlantic Ocean beach, which provides opportunities for swimming, walking, fishing, and watching coastal wildlife. A unique feature of the city is its compact barrier-island setting between two major waterways. Nearby Patrick Space Force Base and the Kennedy Space Center also contribute to the area's identity as part of Florida's Space Coast. State Road A1A and nearby U.S. Route 1 provide important connections to Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, and other coastal communities.
