Lyndhurst is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, the United States. It lies in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, about 12 miles east of downtown Cleveland and roughly 6 miles west of Chagrin Falls. Lyndhurst is located at approximately 41.520° North latitude and 81.489° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 13,305 residents, and the city covers about 4.44 square miles (11.50 sq km). Lyndhurst was incorporated as a village in 1920 and became a city in 1960. The community developed from rural farmland into a residential suburb as Cleveland expanded eastward during the 20th century. Its location provides easy access to major employment centers, shopping areas, hospitals, universities, and cultural attractions throughout Greater Cleveland. Legacy Village is one of the area's best-known destinations, with shops, restaurants, public spaces, and community events. Acacia Reservation, part of the Cleveland Metroparks system, provides wooded trails, open fields, and access to the natural landscape of the Chagrin Valley.
