Maple Heights is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, the United States. It lies southeast of Cleveland, about 10 miles from downtown Cleveland and roughly 15 miles northeast of Akron. Maple Heights is located at approximately 41.415° North latitude and 81.565° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 23,138 residents, and the city covers about 5.18 square miles (13.42 sq km). Maple Heights was incorporated as a village in 1915 and became a city in 1930. The community grew rapidly during the early 20th century as Cleveland's industrial economy expanded and new streetcar and road connections encouraged suburban development. Today, Maple Heights is a primarily residential community with established neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and local parks. Stafford Park and nearby recreation areas provide green space for residents. The city's location also places it close to the Cuyahoga Valley, where visitors can explore hiking trails, forests, waterfalls, and historic sites.
