Mayfield Heights is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, the United States. It lies in northeastern Ohio, about 15 miles east of downtown Cleveland and roughly 35 miles west of Akron. Mayfield Heights is located at approximately 41.520° North latitude and 81.458° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 19,604 residents, and the city covers about 5.01 square miles (12.98 sq km). Mayfield Heights developed as a suburban community during the 20th century and was incorporated as a city in 1950. Its location east of Cleveland helped it grow as residential development expanded throughout the region. Today, the city has established neighborhoods, shopping centers, offices, schools, restaurants, and community parks. The Eastgate shopping and business area is one of the city's major commercial centers and serves residents from surrounding communities. Mayfield Heights is close to several large parks and nature areas within the Cleveland Metroparks system.
