Neptune Beach is a city located in Duval County, Florida, the United States. It lies on Florida's northeast Atlantic coast, about 10 miles east of downtown Jacksonville and directly between Atlantic Beach and Jacksonville Beach. Mayport is roughly 5 miles north, while Ponte Vedra Beach is about 8 miles south. Neptune Beach is positioned near 30.315° North latitude and 81.396° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,217 residents. The city covers about 6.02 square miles, or 15.59 square kilometers, including land and water. Its main geographic feature is the Atlantic Ocean shoreline, which shapes the city's recreation and coastal character. The Neptune Beach Fishing Pier is one of its best-known landmarks and extends into the Atlantic for fishing and sightseeing.
