Pahokee is a city located in Palm Beach County, Florida, the United States. It lies on the southeastern shore of Lake Okeechobee in South Florida, about 50 miles west of West Palm Beach and roughly 45 miles east of Belle Glade. Canal Point is around 15 miles north, while Okeechobee is about 45 miles northwest. Pahokee is positioned near 26.821° North latitude and 80.666° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 5,524 residents. The city covers about 5.99 square miles, or 15.51 square kilometers. Agriculture has long shaped the local economy, with sugarcane and other crops grown across the fertile lands surrounding Lake Okeechobee. Pahokee Marina and Campground provides access to the lake for boating and fishing, while the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail passes through the area. The city was incorporated in 1922. A unique feature of Pahokee is its location directly on Lake Okeechobee, Florida's largest freshwater lake.
