Park City is a city located in Lake County, Illinois, the United States. It lies in northeastern Illinois, about 40 miles north of downtown Chicago and roughly 5 miles west of Waukegan. Gurnee is around 5 miles west, while North Chicago is about 4 miles east. Park City is positioned near 42.348° North latitude and 87.891° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,570 residents. The city covers about 1.57 square miles, or 4.07 square kilometers. Park City developed as a suburban community in the middle of the 20th century and is surrounded by communities and commercial areas of northern Lake County. The nearby Des Plaines River and Lake County Forest Preserves provide access to wetlands, wooded areas, trails, and wildlife habitat. The city is also close to the shores of Lake Michigan and attractions in Waukegan and Gurnee. Park City was incorporated in 1956.
