Richmond Heights is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, the United States. It lies on the eastern side of the Cleveland metropolitan area, about 10 miles east of downtown Cleveland and roughly 5 miles west of Mentor. The city borders Euclid, Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, and South Euclid, placing it close to several inner-ring suburbs. Richmond Heights is positioned near 41.552° North latitude and 81.510° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 10,597 residents. The city covers about 4.05 square miles, or 10.49 square kilometers. Richmond Heights was incorporated as a village in 1917 and became a city in 1960. Its development accelerated during the 20th century as Cleveland's eastern suburbs expanded. The city is located near Lake Erie and has convenient access to several regional parks and recreation areas. Richmond Town Square, historically one of the area's major shopping centers, was an important part of the city's commercial identity for decades.
