It lies on Florida's northeastern Atlantic coast along Anastasia Island, about 5 miles southeast of historic St. Augustine and roughly 35 miles south of Jacksonville. Ponte Vedra Beach is about 20 miles north, while Palm Coast is approximately 25 miles south of the city. St. Augustine Beach is located at 29.8508° North latitude and 81.2717° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,026 residents. The city covers about 1.89 square miles (4.90 square kilometers) of land and water. The Atlantic Ocean forms the city's eastern boundary and is the defining geographic feature of the community.
