St. Pete Beach is a city located in Pinellas County, Florida, the United States. It lies on a barrier island along the Gulf of Mexico, about 10 miles west of St. Petersburg and roughly 30 miles southwest of Tampa. Treasure Island is immediately north, while Gulfport is about 5 miles east. The city is located at 27.7253° North latitude and 82.7412° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,879 residents. St. Pete Beach covers about 2.28 square miles, or approximately 5.91 square kilometers, including land and water. Its Gulf beaches are the city's defining geographic feature and support swimming, fishing, boating, and other coastal recreation. The Pass-a-Grille Historic District at the southern end of the city contains historic homes, small businesses, and waterfront landmarks. The Don CeSar, a large pink hotel overlooking the Gulf, is another prominent local landmark. A unique feature of St. Pete Beach is its narrow barrier-island setting, with the Gulf of Mexico to the west and Boca Ciega Bay to the east.
