Wauseon is a city located in Fulton County, Ohio, the United States. It is in northwestern Ohio, about 30 miles west of Toledo, 35 miles southeast of Adrian, Michigan, and approximately 25 miles north of Defiance. Wauseon lies at approximately 41.550° North latitude and 84.142° West longitude. The city had 7,332 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 6.10 square miles, or 15.80 square kilometers. Wauseon was founded in the 1850s and became the county seat of Fulton County. The community grew after the arrival of railroads and developed as a center for agriculture, trade, and local government. Its downtown courthouse square remains an important part of the city and contains historic buildings and civic landmarks. The annual Fulton County Fair is another major local tradition and draws visitors from across the region. Nearby attractions include Harrison Lake State Park, Sauder Village, and the Maumee River.
