Atmore is a city located in Escambia County, Alabama, the United States. The city is situated in southwestern Alabama along Interstate 65 and U.S. Route 31, approximately 50 miles (80 km) north of Mobile, 55 miles (89 km) northeast of Pensacola, Florida, and about 170 miles (274 km) southwest of Montgomery. Atmore is located at 31.0238° North latitude and 87.4939° West longitude. According to the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 8,391. Atmore covers approximately 22.39 square miles (58.00 sq km). The city is recognized for its railroad history, nearby Poarch Creek Indian Reservation, and as the home of Wind Creek Atmore Resort & Casino.
