Where is Green Located?
Green is a city located in Summit County, Ohio, the United States. It lies in northeastern Ohio, south of Akron and north of Canton, about 10 miles southeast of Akron's city center and approximately 15 miles northwest of Canton. Green is part of the Akron metropolitan area and has convenient access to Interstate 77, Interstate 277, and Ohio State Route 619. The city is located at approximately 40.945° North latitude and 81.483° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 27,699 residents. Green covers about 33.6 square miles, or 87.0 square kilometers, including land and water. The community began as Green Township and was named for Revolutionary War general Nathaniel Greene. The township developed as an agricultural community before suburban growth expanded around Akron and Canton. Today, Green has a mix of established neighborhoods, newer developments, commercial districts, parks, and open land. Nearby attractions include Portage Lakes State Park, MAPS Air Museum, Akron-Canton Airport, and the cultural and recreational sites of Akron and Canton.
